Helsinki and Singapore rated the two best cities in the world for startup workers

Helsinki: a city in the cold north with about 620.000 citizens. Singapore: a city just above the Equator with a population of 5.6 million. There is a 9274.65 km flightdistance between to two cities. So what do they have in common? Well, they are both excellent places to live if you are looking to work in the startup industry. However, the reason they both score so high differs.

The German website Nestpick surveyed hundreds of cities worldwide to determine which offer the best conditions for those working in the startup industry. The results of the Startup Cities Index were based on 13 factors categorised into five important criteria: startup ecosystem, salaries, social security & benefits, cost of living and quality of life.

In the overall ranking, Singapore is estimated the best place for those looking to work in startups. Among other things, this Asian city offers a variety of career opportunities thanks to its vibrant startup scene.

Helsinki received an overall ranking of second place and scored especially well in the categories of social security and quality of life. The Finnish capital also excelled by ranking top for equality with a score of 5/5 in this particular category.
